Harry S Truman, 33rd president of the United States, lived with his wife, Bess, from when they married in 1919 until his death in 1972 in the home at 219 N. Delaware. During Truman’s presidency, the home played the role of their “Summer White House.” After his presidency, Truman returned home to Independence, MO, a place he fondly called “the center of the world.” Today, @harrystrumannps offers a glimpse at the personal life of the 33rd President. Beautiful in its uncluttered commonness, the home showcases the simple life the family enjoyed in Independence before and after Harry's years as President.⁣
