The students at Eastern Elementary School in Greenville celebrated #NationalWalktoSchoolDay hosted by the Active Routes to School program at Vidant Medical Center. They walked as a group from nearby Jaycee Park to school this morning to help raise awareness for pedestrian safety and physical activity. Eastern was one of 19 schools in Vidant region and 500 across the country to take part in National Walk to School Day activities. Thanks to Greenville Police, ECU Police and other safety agencies for joining in the walk and thanks to WCTI-TV and reporter Daisha Jones for their coverage of the special event.
