Let's visit the post-match play PGAChampionship era of the 1960's and when the Major was held in July.

1960 - Jay Hebert, our Class of 1982 Professional Player inductee, won the event at Firestone Country Club. He bested Jim Ferrier by one stroke to claim the Wanamaker Trophy.

1967 - Don January beat out fellow Texas Golf Hall of Fame member, Don Massengale. After finishing regulation play tied at 7-under, they competed in an 18-hole playoff on Monday to determine the winner where January won by two strokes.
