## Caption

Commencement back in the 1940's was a bit different. PC still took advantage of the beautiful spring weather, but the location of the event, as you'll note in the photo, wasn't held in the middle of the West Plaza. Instead, the stage and the seats were positioned near the area where Douglas House and the Gazebo sit today. -
