Fun with Thai sticks. 🙌 Have you heard the latest from Thailand? 🇹🇭 First off, enjoy some #tbt pics from joncappetta thejimidevine thehighriseco derekfukuhara + friends' ganja-focused trip to the country last year. What's happened since?

Quick recap: "The Land of Smiles" became the first Asian country to decriminalize ca**abis in 2022, and while there were restrictions including a low T*C limit, the market blew TF up. Thousands of dispos, lounges, cultivators and brands sprung across the country, but the market was virtually unregulated. In response to this, along with some public backlash and concerns over misuse and unfounded fears over increased crime and other social impacts, the new government under Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin panicked.

Recently, there was serious talk from officials who made it clear that they were preparing to crack down, recrimminalize MJ by reclassifying it as a narcotic, and take steps to limit its use to medicinal purposes. That would seriously suck for the booming market, new tourism, all of the folks and businesses now making a living in the green game, and the citizens who got used to newfound freedom in a place that — despite its long rich history with the plant — heavily criminalized and penalized MJ use for decades.

Suddenly last week.. good news! The government made a u-turn and decided against recrimminalizing. They will instead focus on REGULATING. What that will look like exactly is unknown, but it's sure to be better than whatever they were planning before. Our high Thai friends have been celebrating, and we're stoked for 'em.
