Still reeling from the heartbreak of a defeat that sealed their relegation to Division Two, Steel City prepares for its final match of the season.

It's a festival of soccer in DeKalb, as the National Amateur Championship Match kicks off at the conclusion of Steel City's match.

Steel City has never lost to DeKalb. But this is a transformed opponent.

DeKalb's Renaissance:
Why the eye-popping results over the last two-week period? It's geography, stupid.

DeKalb's isolation can be a disadvantage when attracting players, limiting the pool of local talent. But they've cleverly turned this challenge into an advantage. 

With the early arrival of players for Northern Illinois University's Division 1 season, DeKalb has recruited standout individuals to their ranks, significantly bolstering their squad. 

This strategic move has transformed their recent match results and adds to the legacy of President John Hall as amongst the sharpest minds in the semi-pro game. 

Special Night:
All roads lead to DeKalb this weekend. The city is hosting the USASA Cup Final Four. The USASA Cup is our country's national amateur soccer championship. 

Hundreds of amateur teams across the country, including Steel City, are eligible/play in the single-elimination tournament.

It's another massive feather in the cap for the folks at DeKalb County United for taking on the gigantic project of hosting the Final Four.
