Happy Friday! Let's 🚧 PAWS to celebrate 23kathyy, ugaengineering Environmental Engineering major who interned with mohawkindustriescareers in Dalton, GA this summer.

"Getting to work hands on with the front and back ends of manufacturing allowed me to understand how each person plays an individualized role in creating a product that we may encounter in our everyday lives (in my case, carpet). Being an environmental engineering major, I never understood how much data went into regulating processes on the manufacturing line. But, as a Continuous Improvements Intern, I interacted with data every single day. Not only was I able to see the quantitative side of the process, I was also involved in with quality engineering which is directly reflected in the data that I interact with."

​Her advice for peers? ➡️ "As an environmental engineering major, I thought that I would be working with natural resources or water quality. But, I am extremely thankful to be able to try something different for my internship this summer. Learning the ins and outs of manufacturing has allowed me to broaden my perspectives and career outlook. I would say that you are not bound to what you are studying. If you want to try something new, now is the time to do it. You never know what you'll like until you really get your hands and feet dirty. Don't let your reservations about an atypical career hinder you from trying out a new career path." #Paws4DawgsOnTheJob
