We're PAWS-ing to celebrate ugasocialwork major, cemistretta! 🐶🎉 Claire learned a great deal through her teaching experience with Catholic Charities Atlanta including culturally sensitive lesson planning, strengths based classroom etiquette, and trauma-informed leadership. "More than just hard skills though, I learned what true selflessness and community can look like. I was blown away by the stories of our clients and the welcome that I received, and I will hold this dear forever."

When asked what she accomplished that she didn't think she would be able to do, she said,"​I feel that I have always pursued what I feel that I "should do," but this opportunity helped encourage me to take different and unexpected steps and to be a little bolder in what I choose to pursue, and I am grateful for that growth in what I see myself as capable of."

​Her advice for peers? "Take the leap of faith to apply for the position - don't let any doubt about your abilities get in the way of putting yourself out there. Once you have an internship role, take advantage of every opportunity that you are given. Take the training class, talk with your coworkers about their experiences, show up for that extra event - every opportunity you have is one that can grow you in ways that you had never imagined, so be open to anything and everything." #Paws4DawgsOnTheJob
