​Her PLAN ➡️ My plan for this summer was to study abroad in Cádiz, Spain to complete two courses for my Spanish minor.

What CHANGED? 🌀 When COVID-19 first struck, I still had a lot of hope that I would still be able to go on my trip; however, the study abroad trip was canceled in April just shortly after I had bought my plane tickets. Spain has always been my dream travel destination and I was devastated when I received the news. And with such short notice, I worried I would be unable to find an internship, especially since so many other student's internships were being canceled.

How did you PIVOT? ↪️ I decided to be proactive and applied to work at my local chickfila which then offered to bring me on as an intern for the summer. And because I am a Supply Chain and Operations Management major, they have been sure to teach me how operations and the supply chain works for an individual store as well as bringing me in for meetings with managers from the Chick-fil-A Distribution Center so that I can understand the movement of the products and what procedures are in place to ensure consistent quality across all stores. So, while my initial plan to travel to Spain was canceled, I have had the opportunity to spend a summer getting hands-on experience, learning more about aspects of my major in real-world scenarios, and working with a wonderful company and team.

What did you LEARN? 👩‍🏫 The biggest takeaway from my experience is that your first plan doesn't have to be your final plan, and it is okay to go through unexpected change because another incredible opportunity just may be waiting for you on the horizon. #pawsitivepivots
