The International Olympic Committee (IOC) issued an apology, and South Korea’s Vice Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Jang Mi Ran, requested a meeting with IOC President Thomas Bach. ⁠

South Korea’s Foreign Ministry was asked to file a formal complaint with the French government. IOC President Thomas Bach also personally apologized to South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol. ⁠
