Meet Kit! 

"When we first found out Kit was born with Down syndrome, the information was certainly unexpected," said Christine Broder, Kit's mother.

"As a family, we were embraced by the Down syndrome community. Organizations like jacksbasket, gigisplayhouse_twincities, and downsyndromemn have guided and connected our family to a community full of celebration and love!" 

Broders' Restaurants are celebrating World Down Syndrome Day on Tuesday, March 21st and has committed to donating 10% of all company revenues, split evenly, to these organizations: Down Syndrome Association of MN, Jack's Basket, and Gigi's Playhouse!

"Down syndrome is one part of our daughter, Kit. She is full of strength, determination and compassion. As we celebrate World Down Syndrome Day, we want to highlight the incredible abilities of people with Down syndrome and encourage our greater community to seek out and appreciate these strengths. 

Christine Broder, Kit's mom, volunteers for Jack's Baskets, delivering baskets to families who have a baby with a Down syndrome diagnosis. She is also a new member of the board at Gigi's Playhouse. The Broder family feels honored to be involved in the community that has brought us so much joy!"

Kit is seven-years-old and in first grade in MPS. At school, Kit loves learning and playing with her friends! She comes home telling stories about her day, including who got new shoes and the current phonics lesson. Sometimes she gets in trouble, like her other first grade friends and other times she is the leader in her class, showing others what to do and how to do it! 

Kit is an exceptional older sister to Bella (4) and Frankie (18 months). Her kindness and example provide a clear expectation to her sisters."
