Following yesterday’s #FootlockerRegionals, we did a deep dive into the archives to dig up some old photos and results from #FootlockerNationals:

While an incredible accomplishment and one very much worthy of celebration, you may realize that 85% of our professional track club never made it. If you sift through the results from the last 15 years, you will certainly see a lot of recognizable names still competing today. Equally so, there are many fantastic prep runners whose achievements you may recall and wonder how their career ended up.

To those who qualified yesterday—Congratulations! You are in elite company and are following in the footsteps of many collegiate All-Americans, professionals and Olympians. And to those who did not make the cut, you too are also following in the footsteps of many collegiate All-Americans, professionals and Olympians.

There are many paths to a long and successful journey, and while the map may lead every athlete down a different trail, those who ultimately find their way to the podium have a few traits in common:

Even at their best, they’re always striving for more. And at their worst, they’re able to bounce back. And through it all, they love the process. 🗽🔵💣
