The Memphis police department released a statement sharing that former officer #PrestonHemphill has been fired due to the death of #TyreNichols. As we previously reported, Preston was under investigation as he participated in the initial traffic stop and the use of a Taser.

The MPD reached an additional finding in the administrative investigation into Tyre’s death. The press release says, “After a thorough review, it was determined that Hemphill violated multiple department policies.
