Welcome to another #MediavineMonday! If you’ve ever had to make a strategy pivot, today’s feature is one you’re going to want to read.

Jennifer Fishkind of princesspinkygirl was a Pinterest Affiliate Pins user who grew a following of over 1M sharing plans for her son’s Bar Mitzvah. Eventually, she started a blog to drive traffic to her own sandbox. This proved crucial when Pinterest closed their affiliate pins program. Jenn quickly realized that food-related content drove the bulk of her traffic and went all-in!

Q: How have you grown your business over the years?

A: Any time I’ve had growth in my business, it’s been because of a pivot or investment. They haven’t been easy decisions, but they’ve made the difference. I work hard. I try to manage by the numbers. ‘If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.’ My blog is a business, not a passion-project, so I treat it like a business.

Q: What does your day-to-day routine look like?

A: I start early and check my stats, social media and other tools to see what’s bringing in pageviews. My assistant and I talk for 30 minutes a day about priorities and delegate tasks to my team.

Q: What has being a part of Mediavine meant for your business?

A: To me, this is a partnership; I feel like I have a partner in Mediavine. I work better as a team and I know that there’s a team of people looking out for my best interests. Mediavine is truly a community.
