Two years ago, when I quit drinking, I really started running. It’s funny because up until that point in my life, mentally I would often run from my pain. I would physically numb and try to hide my hopelessness.
This medal represents more than finishing todays half marathon. It represents a new beginning in my life. A symbol of my recovery and the journey I’m on. I’m so grateful to be here.
