Awful Cloth has partnered with Bochy’s Place to help raise funds for their organization to build a safe house.

All profits from our Butterfly Effect t-shirts and beanies will be donated to bochysplace

The butterfly design has been hand-drawn by a former member of Bochy’s Place. Here is just a little bit of her story:

“My life has always consisted of hate, chaos, and rejection. I was born in a different country, and when I was 7 years old my mother drowned and died and from there was put into an orphanage. A family from America came to adopt me when I was 8 and from that point on I spent my life being passed around from family to family. There was never a family that wanted me long-term. As soon as I would get used to a family, and know them as Mom and Dad, I would get passed to the next house. One of the families gave me away to a couple online that turned out pedophiles. I was in a constant state of rejection from every person in my life.

When I turned 18 I turned to anything and anyone who accepted me. I have no idea what my identity was, I was just focused on getting love and acceptance. Through a few rough years, I woke up one day and realized that I was being trafficked. That’s when I decided to run from that.

After over a year of being at Bochy’s Place, I’ve gotten to see and learn what a healthy home looks like, what real love looks like, what peace feels like. My life today is not a perfect cookie-cutter life but it is leaps and bounds ahead of where I was before. Not only am I serving in church, learning how to keep a home, but I have created a relationship with God that will carry me through the rest of my life.

After experiencing the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and learning self-control at Bochy’s Place, it is now up to me to bring that atmosphere to my life, to my home, to my future family.”
