## Caption

We are officially one week away from Valentine’s Day and I have been trying to wrap my head around how I want to honor our love moving forward. I’ll share my thoughts with you. 

1. I want to learn how to allow my partner the space to express himself without taking offense to his perception of the situation. 

2. I want to be firm in and sure of my core feelings so I don’t feel threatened when my partner doesn’t see things the way I do. 

3. I want to be more vulnerable with our love. 

4. I want to have better self control so I can always show up for him as the version of myself I know I can be. While still giving grace to my shortcomings. 

5. I want to be his peace. I want him to feel at home with me. I want him to fall into my arms and feel weightless. 

Lastly, I want every conversation I have with my partner to be mature and respectful. 

Valentine’s Day has been the day we stress out trying to prove our love for our partner in flashy ways when in reality, no work is being done. Don’t get me wrong, those things are great but what about the day after when all the beautiful flowers start to die, and the chocolate melts, and the balloons start to lose air.. what about the work needed to make your partner feel like it’s Valentine’s Day everyday? 

Let’s work this year! I challenge you all to take your love to the next level because every day is not a given and years invested into a relationship or marriage doesn’t mean it’s perfect and unbreakable. It takes work!
