Happy #ThetaThursday! Introducing Anna Metzger 

Anna is a member of MC 19 and is majoring in Business Marketing and minoring in Political Science. Outside of Columbia, she calls Lindenhurst, Illinois home!

In addition to devoting her time to Theta, Anna also dedicates her talents to numerous leadership roles outside of the chapter. One such role is her involvement in the Mizzou Alumni Association Student Board. As AASB’s Vice President of External Relations, Anna is charge of overseeing the iconic Mizzou traditions of Tiger Walk, Senior Sendoff, and Mizzou 18 & ‘39. “It has been such an incredible growth experience to be able to plan these iconic Mizzou events.” Anna says.

Anna’s passion for helping to carry on Mizzou traditions began her freshman year. “From early on, I developed a passion for the Mizzou traditions, since they serve as such a special connection point for students and our University.”

In addition to her other responsibilities within AASB, Anna also oversees AASB’s involvement in the most important Mizzou event of all--Homecoming. With Homecoming weekend quickly approaching, Anna has been busy working with AASB’s Homecoming liaisons to ensure events such as the flag football tournament, banner, Decorate the District, the blood drive, and the parade go smoothly. 

According to Anna, her time in AASB has helped her to grow and expand her leadership skills. “Ultimately, I’ve learned that leadership isn’t defined by a specific position, but instead through the relationships you build,” she says. Through this experience and throughout my past few years at Mizzou, I have learned so much about how to intentionally reach others to make them feel valued and how to work to create spaces for everyone to feel comfortable in. That relationship building doesn’t come from a specific title, but instead from how much you invest into the people surrounding you.”

We are so proud to have such an amazing leader like Anna in our chapter and we are so excited to see all the things she accomplishes in the future. We love you, Anna!!
