## Caption

I love trail running so freaking much. The sport itself, the culture, the community, the energy, the MO, the vibe, the fashion, the simplicity, the camaraderie, the passion. All of it. 

This weekend, I participated in brokenarrowskyrace at palisadestahoe strictly as a spectator. I was originally signed up to run the 46K, but my knee issues from this winter told me to prioritize my focus on longer-term goals later this summer, so I pulled out. Injury is normally isolating, depressing, and lonely—all of which I’ve been experiencing. Instead, I did this. I ordered a vuvuzela off Amazon, donned a tutu, and made sure to cheer on friends and strangers alike for all three days of one of the greatest trail running festivals in America. 

If I could spend every weekend of my summer supporting friends (or strangers) pursuing their goals in this wonderful sport, I’d be a very happy man. Good news for me is that I’m doing so again next weekend too.
