If you are reading this, I’d like to say thank you for your interest in this song.

This song “Old Rugged Cross” is a classic hymn written by Evangelist George Bernard in 1912 with a rich history and our version here is on an  EP and tribute I gave to my mother, Helen Marie Bergstrom on Mothers Day a couple years ago. It’s one of her all time favorite songs, and she told me “people need to hear these songs”. So I’m going to listen to her and share this video today on Easter as “The Old Rugged Cross” is a poignant reflection on the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ and the redemptive power of his death on the cross. It has touched the lives of countless individuals and continues to be sung in churches, concerts, and gatherings around the world as a testament to the central message of my Christian faith.

The spirit behind this EP:

My mom gave me the gift of music when I was 12 and purchased my first drum set which in turn has given me a lifetime of amazing experiences recording, performing, touring, and long-standing friendships. After over 40 years of music and drumming, I gave her the gift of music back with this EP.

The EP “Momma’s Top 7” is a collection of seven of her favorite gospel songs, reimagined, and played by some of the best musicians I’ve ever known and played with. A very special thanks to all of them and others for being part of this.
