An underground watch auction like no other, tonight #SothebysGeneva and __heist_out’s Rough Diamonds achieved nearly twice its high estimate, totalling over CHF 1.15 million / USD 1.3 million in a ‘white-glove’ auction. (A ‘white-glove’ moment is a tradition where the auctioneer is gifted a pair of white gloves at the conclusion of the sale when 100% of lots are sold.)
 
The auction—which took place in the same subterranean wine cellar where the watches were exhibited for three days before—saw a packed audience feverishly witness the fast-and-furious sale of all 24 watches in just under an hour.
 
After six minutes of determined bidding between eight participants with wanderingwhisky at the rostrum, this unique Patek Philippe set (Reference 3290, designed in 1962 by Gilbert Albert featuring a bracelet watch, a ring and a necklace with each piece created in yellow gold, decorated with enamel and set with pearls) soared to nearly eight times its estimate at CHF 393,700 / USD 435,727 as the final lot in the sale.
