Thank you Chief of Staff, Gladie Jaffe, and Athletic Director, John David Wicker, for spending time with #SMBA23 to give an in-depth look at the operations of Aztec Athletics.

JD and Gladie highlighted the inner workings of a successful college athletics department and how they prioritize the ‘student’ in their student athletes.

Of the many topics covered, of particular note to Sports MBA students is the fact that Wicker and his team spearheaded the implementation of a course that supports student athletes in their academic and professional development. This 4-year course, called Aztecs Going Pro (AGP), prepares Aztec athletes for life after college and is a key differentiator for  SDSU compared to other universities.
