A couple of company Christmas parties ago, an old boss introduced me to his wife with the superlative "Jack really, really loves basketball - he played in college, still plays in leagues, and he's on the company team." That's always been true, from 9 year old me who needed a full men's t-shirt as a jersey to my current self, constantly dragging a sore body to the court. Playing ball is absolutely my favorite thing in the world, whether it's random 3-on-3 at the gym (like today, where I set mostly set screens for a hotshot 13 year old showing off for his dad) or 3 leagues a week because I can't say no. Saddest day of my life will be when I can't get on the floor anymore.
