I’ve been thinking about what community means to me while on this tour, and meeting so many fellow LGBTQ+ people has shown me what truly makes our community so special. Hearing the stories of resilience from same-sex families who have fought tooth and nail to make sure that their children get to experience a world without prejudice — and are able to grow up, come to concerts and hear songs about what love in our community looks like and should be like — has really made my heart smile. I grew up in a world where I was unsure that same-sex families would ever be accepted in our society or on television but now as someone who has the pen in their hand and can make change I only partner with brands that actually reach out and make change in my community. 
 
That’s why I’m proud to partner with neutrogena through the #CareWithPride initiative. For the past eight years, CARE WITH PRIDE® has partnered with non-profit familyequality , which works to advance legal and lived equality for LGBTQ+ families and for those who wish to form them through building community, changing hearts and minds, and driving policy change…and over the last 11 years, NEUTROGENA® has helped raise over $1 million for LGBTQ+ nonprofits including Family Equality, translegaldefense , trevorproject , pflag and many Pride and other local grassroots organizations around the in the U.S. and globally. I’m so PROUD to be a part of this campaign and to see how much they care about changing the narrative for LGBTQIA families in this country especially in a time when we need it the most #brandpartner
