The video for his single, “Mercy,” was inspired by his own fears. He stated in a radio interview that “Deep water is my biggest fear, by far. That’s why I was really excited to do it [because I’m facing a fear.] There’s two sides to “Mercy”, one side is that deep love , but another side to look at is when people are so in love with their passion and what they do for a living. It consumes you, you become obsessed with it, and you just want to beg for mercy. That’s why the contrast is me drowning in a car, trying to escape, where on the other side I’m creating this beautiful song in the middle of a warehouse on this piano and drums, and I explode at the end. But I get out.”
