"Five years ago, we—hopeful Harvard graduates and sisters of Currier House—departed our first home away from home into an uncertain future. But one thing was certain: we’d remain family. This week we reunite and rejoice in the beauty of the friendships we’ve forged over dining hall trays, exam periods, snowstorms, and dance shows. In the past half-decade, we’ve maintained and sustained our love for each other through the good—welcome career changes, exciting cross-country moves, the birth of precious twins, and festive promotions—and the bad—rocky relationships, health challenges, and the passing of loved ones. We shipped a traveling diary to cities all around the world, penning our hopes, aspirations, frustrations, and anticipations. A GroupMe kept us in the loop with each other’s lives.⠀

We are thrilled to return to the place that brought us together. We are proud women of Harvard College. We are American, African-American, Canadian, Ghanian, Guyanese, Indian, Iranian, Mexican, and Norwegian. We are aspiring lawyers, business leaders, financiers, doctors, educators, psychcologists, global health champions, and feminist advocates. We represent California, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington. We are family. ⠀

The last time we were all united, Harvard Staff Photographer Rose Lincoln photographed us in our Currier “treehouse.” Now on the eve of our five-year reunion, she generously reached out to re-create one of our most cherished images from college. To us, these two photos—side-by-side—embody what Harvard is all about: diversity, camaraderie, and optimism. This moment reminds us to, as we disperse and blaze our own trails in the world, always return to reconnect. Happy Alumni Weekend, Class of 2013."⠀
