Song 5/7 that defined my 2020 - Where It’s Blue by the venerable vennersongs 

What the song means to me: A good song often feels like a warm hug. That’s this song. As an artist, sometimes I get to live in this twilight world where my friends also happen to be creators who inspire me. Quarantine brought a lot of crap, but it did bring me Colton as a good friend, and his lyrics and end-of-chorus hooks are unrivaled. Back in the summer, he sent me this song and I siphoned off of that unreleased recording for a while until WiB was finally out. When it came out, it was the first song I put on for over a month.

About the day: a dream day! Are a hearty breakfast (fake meal) and skied the morning at Monarch with a good friend and role model, Rob, and then headed down the pass en route to Denver. But first I stopped off in BV, wrote a killer new tune, and then continued onward to dinner with my friend Connor. The night ended with a little car sleep. Nothing better.
