The 39th episode of the #BareFeetSeries premieres TODAY on createtvchannel, our Carnival in the guadeloupeislands 2-Part Special, the same week that I am celebrating my 39th birthday!  I can't help but think this timing and these episodes were destined to come out to the world at this exact moment, (and not just because I love celebrating #Carnival for my birthday) but because the world is ready and hungry to hear these stories - we are celebrating Black voices, Black joy, and Black culture!  Happy Black History Month, Happy Carnival, Bonne Fetes, and THANK YOU for celebrating so much joy with me this week!

We kick off the Carnival celebrations in The Guadeloupe Islands with food, parades, and dancing!  I learn the rhythms of Gwo-Ka (the soul of the islands) at akademiduka, eat the delicious Bokit with ruddytaxi118_djruddy, and witness the powerful marches honoring the island’s ancestors with maskakle!
