My Mom always made a big deal out of every little achievement I accomplished growing up. I didn’t have to be the best at everything, I just needed to know that I could do it. She wanted me to believe in myself and her cheering me on was what got me there. She still does this today.🥹

Like Mother, like daughter I have chosen to take her style of empowerment and apply it to my leadership skills. Sofia is improving on so many levels and it’s important for me to make sure she feels it and sees it. This, you already know about me.

In these slides you’ll see what that kind of empowerment looks like from her perspective and how it’s perceived from the outside looking in. 

I can’t explain the feeling I get when Sofia sends me texts about what she was able to do on her own. She’s proud of herself for learning something new and oh my gawd I swear I’m not tearing up right now as I’m typing this out.

*clears throat from feeling choked up*

It’s also great reading messages from people I’ve never met before being so supportive of what I’m trying to accomplish. I often forget that you guys can see me. I live in a bubble over here and it wasn’t until my recent trip to Miami that I realized my reach extends beyond the walls of Centre St. So I repeat, thank you for the messages.

Listen, my style of leadership might not work for everyone and I might be annoying some of you for hyping up someone so green from day one. 

But, if I could empower and mentor a brewery filled with Sofias I would.  I’ve said this many times before and I will say it again, I will choose character and a great work ethic over skills any day.
