2023-24 Recap:
▪️Record: 33-5 (Big 12, 14-4)
▪️Big 12 Conference Tournament Champions 
▪️NCAAT Elite Eight 

The next team up is the Texas Longhorns. They were one of the best teams in the Big 12 last season, and as they move to the SEC this year, they hope to continue their success in the new conference. 

The Longhorns bring back their core of players, including All-American Madison Booker, who became the leader of this team after point guard Rori Harmon went down with injury. Shay Holle, Taylor Jones, and Aaliyah Moore bring back lots of experience and production. The timeline for Harmon to return from her ACL injury is not yet known, but she will be a huge boost for this team when she returns.

Texas brings in three highly rated freshmen, all ranked in the top 40 per ESPN. Although the Longhorns have a strong backcourt, there will be opportunities off the bench for the freshmen guards to contribute. And Carlton gives the front court much needed depth. 

They bring in two transfers - Kyla Oldacre and Laila Phelia. Oldacre brings in height and post experience, which was needed after losing four forwards. Phelia will be able to fill in at that two spot in place of Gonzales. ESPN ranked the guard as the no. 7 transfer.
