When I heard this song I cried. Realizing that my growth from the past 3 years is thanks to putting myself first and focusing on what is best and healthy for me is truly something I’m treasuring immensely. I spent most of my adult life in relationships where all I did was try to please my partner and be someone I wasn’t. So I write this for the girls who are in the shoes I was in a long time ago. Know that if you put yourself first and take care of yourself first you’ll be much happier and healthier. No man (or woman) should ever have the power to control you.
