Mike Janda is a legendary figure in the history of Bellarmine College Preparatory football, serving as the head coach for an unprecedented 36 seasons, from 1984 to 2020. During his remarkable tenure, Janda cemented his legacy as one of the all-time great high school football coaches in California.

Janda’s teams achieved extraordinary success, as he became the winningest football coach in Central Coast Section (CCS) history, with an astounding record of 286 wins, 104 losses, and 3 ties. His teams won 14 West Catholic Athletic League (WCAL) championships and 6 CCS championships, out of 12 CCS finals appearances.

Janda’s coaching acumen was widely recognized, as he was named the Northern California Football Coach of the Year by the California Coaches’ Association (CCA) and the State Coach of the Year by Cal-Hi Sports.
