For this week's story of #HowWeMetAtRU, we have Andrew & Caitlin ✨

"Andrew and Caitlin enrolled at Rutgers University in the Fall of 2015. They met on the first day of school at freshman convocation, soon found out that they would be living across the street from each other on Busch Campus. Between frequent breakfasts, lunches, and dinners together at Busch Dining Hall, Andrew and Caitlin decided to join the Rutgers Taekwondo Team together. Not even an accidental kick to the face was enough to disrupt their blossoming friendship! 

By the time that sophomore year rolled around, Andrew and Caitlin were best friends, however Andrew was interested in more than just friendship. When Andrew asked out Caitlin, the new couple agreed on one caveat: they would break up before Caitlin left to study abroad in just four months. After four months of study dates and countless adventures together around campus, it was time for Caitlin to leave for Australia. 

What did Andrew and Caitlin do? The couple decided that they could not bear breaking up. The two shared countless video calls, snapchats, and spent hours talking on the phone every single day that they were apart. After several months of long-distance dating, Andrew took two plane flights (25+ hours in the air) with Caitlin's family to visit Caitlin on her birthday. Reunited at last, it was clear that Andrew and Caitlin’s love for each other only grew stronger while they were apart. 

After Caitlin returned to Rutgers, Andrew and Caitlin’s days were filled with countless sushi dates, romantic getaways, and volunteering with their community service-based fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. These days, Andrew and Caitlin are setting up their new home in Bedminster, NJ and preparing for their upcoming wedding!"
