The University of Northern Iowa and the Meskwaki Tribal Council are developing a mission stewardship statement for UNI to honor Native and Indigenous people on campus and throughout the community. An on-campus listening session was capped with a performance by world champion fancy dancer Larry Yazzie of the Meskwaki Nation and coincided with the opening of a UNI Gallery of Art exhibition of work by Native and Indigenous artists.
