Did you know that ALAN (Artificial Light at Night) can harm birds? ALAN is a deadly source of light pollution that can be lethal for birds, especially those migrating at night. Birds can become disoriented and get drawn towards lights (sometimes even getting "trapped" in lights). They may then be unable to find their way out, leading to exhaustion and increasing their risk of collisions with buildings, both during the night and during the day.

At Feather Friendly, we're committed to bird conservation. Our products, such as our Medium-scale Pro DIY visual markers, help make glass visible to birds, preventing accidental collisions.

We proudly support all "Lights Out" initiatives, which advocate for reducing unnecessary nighttime lighting, especially during spring and fall migration, and which have been adopted by many cities throughout North America.

These initiatives encourage turning off excess lighting during the months migrating birds are flying overhead to provide them with a safe passage between their nesting and wintering grounds.

Things you can do to support birds while they migrate -
