Assistant Vice President of Information Technology & CIO at La Salle University

Alicia’s responsibilities include managing the Information Technology department which provides technology services, support, and infrastructure for the campus. 

Alicia acquired this job by first working at La Salle as a support technician for the Math and Computer Science department shortly after she graduated. She minored in computer science which helped her provide technical support for the computer labs, faculty, and students within the department. She then went back to class and completed her Master's in Information Technology Leadership. Over the years she progressed through several instructional technology roles under the Academic Computing Department. She later transitioned into the Executive Director of Enterprise Applications and then in 2021 became AVP & CIO, recently completing her MBA.

Favorite memory from La Salle? 
“It’s hard to pick just one! I have had so many amazing memories as both a student and an employee. My senior year I went on a travel study trip to Italy for an art history course. It was a whirlwind of visiting dozens of churches and museums. Seeing the famous works of art that I had studied for so long in person was unforgettable! I hope to go back there one day.”

Valuable lesson learned?
“Sometimes your career path doesn’t quite move in the direction that you thought it would, and that’s ok. Embrace the twists and turns and eventually you will land where you are supposed to be.”

Advice for Students? 
“Enjoy your time in college and explore! Learn about what makes you happy and get involved on campus. I was a commuter and worked off-campus. It was tough to manage sometimes, but I found ways to adjust my class and work schedules to still get as much out of being in college as I could. The people that you will meet along the way might just be connections that you take with you for life- I met my husband at La Salle!”
