J’shon Twine, ’15
Production Coordinator at AVI-SPL

J’shon’s responsibilities include everything for pre, live, and post shows. He interfaces with clients and sets up sync meetings to understand the clients’ needs for each production. He helps his team with the production plan for the day and acts as the producer and show runner. He keeps the technicians up with their duties and continues to interface with hosts and clients during the production. 

J’shon found this job by half networking and half searching. He was working at a law school, American University, as a facility coordinator where he made connections for his current position at AVI-SPL. 

Favorite memory from La Salle?
“Pretty much every memory in that Com building.” From hanging out in the gazebo outside, the walks to the Com Center, and the late night TreeTops runs for dinner. He also enjoyed the late night editing sessions in the editing room building skills and hanging out with friends.

Valuable lesson learned?
“The power of pivot.” He emphasizes the importance of the ability to pivot at any given notice at any stage of your career. “Had I not learned the fundamentals of that at La Salle… ‘Think Do’ that’s something I carry with me throughout every stage in my life and every stage of my career.”

Advice for Students?
“Take those late nights, take every moment that you have while you’re in the safety and confines of a university. As soon as you leave there, it’s an entirely different ballgame. And just preparing yourself for any of those next steps is key. Sharpen your sword at all times and pick up skill sets. Take advantage of your time overall because when you leave, the ball is rolling. Sometimes it doesn’t quite roll in your favor but you need to be ready. The power of pivot and skills to be able to maneuver if you have to.”
