The rising summer temperatures make the fire danger level from “high” to “very high”. Hiking/Campling is a fun way to get family and friends together to enjoy the outdoors while exercising the body.  However, you should always be prepared for the unexpected. #LASD reminds you that having a hiking/camping plan is crucial to survival in case of an emergency. Before you leave, please fill out LASD Search and Rescue Hiking Plan sheet and provide to a loved one just in case you need help. You can download one using the following link:

When camping, avoid using firewood, grills, or any open flames near dry grass or foliage. Ensure that campfires and barbecues are completely extinguished before leaving them unattended.
