Sure, watching the Parade of Nations down the Seine and beach volleyball matches in front of the Eiffel Tower was impressive, but do you really think the City of Angels can’t do Paris one better? Since Los Angeles is already the land of domes, bowls, coliseums, and more, there’s no shortage of spots for the world’s greatest athletes to perform, so we’ve rounded up a few to help our beloved city out. 

To start: Our country’s mall culture is unmatched, and what better way to show it off than hosting synchronized swimming in the fountains at the Americana? The best part: Athletes can reward themselves with Tex-Mex Eggrolls from The Cheesecake Factory afterwards and enjoy Glendale’s premier open-air shopping destination. Thought the equestrian events at Versailles were regal? Well, just wait until the world sees our very own historic palace: The Arclight Parking Garage and Cinerama Dome, which will hopefully no longer be a boarded-up husk when 2028 rolls around. And now that 3x3 Basketball is a certified major sport, the views (and smells) at the Venice Beach Basketball courts can finally get the notoriety they deserve.
