The story behind YWF! Some of the best products are made by people who needed something but couldn’t buy it- and that’s exactly what I did with YWF!

When my daughters was diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Anxiety, Selective Mutism… etc- her doctor recommended that I incorporate sensory play into her daily routine! She wouldn’t touch the store bought dough and the smell alone freaked her out! That’s when I started messing with recipes and making my own! She would play with it here and there but wasn’t very interested in it until I put the dough in an organized box with themed items. The baking kit was our first sensory kit- and still one of our most popular kits today!

It’s taken a lot of blood, sweat & toys to get to where we are today and it’s been a WILD ride! It’s always crazy to think how one of the very hardest things for us has turned into one of our greatest blessings! Having a kid with special needs is really tough no matter what their difference is. Our daughter is 11 now and we still have a really hard time, but YWF would not be without Evie and I know I wouldn’t be who I am today without her either.  I love my girl fiercely and will always be her biggest advocate, even if its hard. drewberrymore said it best “Life is very interesting… in the end, some of your greatest pains become your greatest strengths.”
