“Writing is a craft, not an art, and the man who runs away from his craft because he lacks inspiration is fooling himself. He is also going broke.” 

Yes, we do social media management, but at the very core of who we are, we are writers. 

We use experiences, ideas and words — your experiences, ideas and words — to achieve whatever goal you have. 

For our clients, that goal is to create content that authentically connects with audiences in a way that invites them to work with / buy from their business. 

To do that well, we have to hone in on our craft. 

While I’m in St. Mary’s on the PA Wilds are Working program, I’ve set aside time every day to study. 

(I go back and forth between business and writing books, because I’m exciting like that.)

So many people are held back in their professions because they feel like education is something that needs to be done outside of their job. 

When really, education needs to be a part of their job. 

I’m not taking a break by reading these books. I am not giving myself time away from work. I am not ignoring my client projects.

It is my job to be as good as possible at what I do so I can deliver the best possible work to my clients. 

& sometimes, that means reading a book that was assigned to me as a freshman in college. 

Every time I see my skills slip, or when I notice they’ve stayed consistent for far too long, leveling up becomes a part of my day-to-day job. 

Luckily for me, my little remote work retreat is the perfect backdrop to really dive in. 

And seriously, if you want to work on your writing skills you HAVE to pick up this book.
