The Pylon Transportable Reactor Platform is a 10-ton class microreactor developed by Ultra Safe Nuclear, designed for versatile use on Earth and in space. It builds on the company's existing MMR (Micro Modular Reactor) and FCM (Fully Ceramic Microencapsulated) fuel technologies to keep weight down and make it more transportable. On Earth, Pylon is designed to produce 1.5 to 5 megawatts of electrical power for up to three years without refueling, and modules would be transported via road, rail, sea, or air. This makes it ideal for humanitarian aid, remote locations, and off-grid applications. The system is sized to a standard 20 ft. CONEX container for easy deployment.

In space, Pylon is envisioned as a critical component for sustaining off-planet industrial and human activities, including powering bases, satellites, and electric propulsion systems. It offers long-term, reliable power without the need for refueling, making it suitable for deep space missions and extraterrestrial industrial processes. The reactor's design is compatible with landers and scalable from 10kWe to 3MWe, making it adaptable to various space applications.

Ultra Safe Nuclear is one of three companies selected to design experiments for potential testing at the Idaho National Laboratory's DOME testbed, with testing possibly starting in 2026 under the National Reactor Innovation Center.
