🎉 It's with great pleasure we announce that starting in June our new Portland Chapter Director will be tori_teaches 🎉

Tori is a determined and passionate individual who discovered the magic of skateboarding during the Covid-19 pandemic. Inspired by Skate Like a Girl, Tori founded the the_sk8_garden in Honolulu, hosting regular skate meet-ups that create a welcoming space for non-traditional skateboarders of all levels, ages, and identities. 

Last year, an unfortunate ACL injury took her off the board. This unexpected turn allowed Tori to dig deep into her soul, contemplating how she could continue to ignite the skateboard flame and make an indelible impact on the community, even from the sidelines.

Now, poised for a new chapter, she is ready to take on the role of the Portland Director in June. Beyond the board, Tori comes to Skate Like a Girl with years of youth work experience as a teacher and a Masters of Science in Education from State University of New York at Potsdam.
