Almost two years ago, the world lost one of its best. Since that day, I have struggled to come up with a way to honour Jeff Fischer through my art. Each time I began, I found myself abandoning the effort after just a few days as I just couldn't imagine a drawing that would capture the impact he had on this world. 

Months later, one Monday morning at 10 a.m., my calendar reminder chimed, signaling it was time for my weekly conversation with Fish. I took a moment to envision how a discussion about this drawing would unfold. I could picture him, likely hesitant about the idea, yet proudly steering the conversation towards his daughters. I imagined him brainstorming potential collaborations with the "World’s Greatest Athlete", damian.warner . Merging that with my own artistic style and his deep ties to Western University, everything started fall into place. Once Scott Wilson, a family friend and colleague stepped in with his passion, 2 cents, and support, I finally had the courage to take a final shot at this tribute. 

While it’s impossible to encapsulate a person’s essence in a single drawing, I believe this piece would make Fish proud. I continue to keep those appointments as a reminder to persevere and to have faith in myself, just as he did.
