Yesterday we began Dandy Pink Cups for the Cure, where we contribute a percentage of all Pink Cups coffee purchases made throughout the month of October, at all of our locations, to the Guthrie Breast Care Center.
The donation to the Guthrie Breast Care Center in Sayre, Pennsylvania, benefits those persons directly impacted by the treatment of breast cancer through the cost of medication, post surgical supplies, diagnostic testing and other expenses that are not traditionally covered by insurance.
Outside of skin cancers, breast cancer is the most common cancer in American women, with 13% developing breast cancer in her lifetime. This means that 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer, but it also means she has a 7 in 8 chance that she will never have the disease. Dandy Pink Cups is a small way that we can publicly bring attention to this very aggressive disease, and to help defray the costs to members in our communities.
