🐶: What is your SPARK? As in, what makes you happy, motivated, or excited? What makes you, you? 

A: I’m obsessed with my dog, Gertie. Her foster mom named her that because she’s always been super wrinkly and looks like a little old lady. I was looking though Petfinder, planning to get a dog that would be about two years old and 30 pounds, but then I stumbled across Gertie. She was a five-month-old puppy who’d grow to be 60 pounds, but she had the cutest photos and sounded like the sweetest girl, and I knew I had to have her! I did a meet and greet and immediately agreed to foster her for a month before I was then able to adopt her. Now Gertie is two years old, and I’m so glad to have her as my goofy, smart, and extremely loving Velcro dog! 

⭐: Who’s a person that inspires you, and why? 

A: My aunt has been a huge inspiration to me. She loved traveling and often did so for work and visited over 35 countries, always bringing me back cool gifts when I was a kid. This sparked my own love for travel and seeking out new experiences. She was extremely independent and made sure to prioritize what she loved to do, like doing Zumba and eventually becoming an instructor. While she didn’t have kids of her own, she was always there for her nieces and nephews, making sure that we knew she supported us in everything we did. I aspire to keep my passions at the forefront of my life, pursue a career I love, and support the people who matter to me — just like she did. 

🐄: If you could have one nontraditional pet, what would it be? 

A: Definitely a cow! They’re essentially cute, giant dogs, and I love going to see them whenever I can. Highland cows and Jersey cows are my favorites. I think someday, if I have a yard that allows it, I will seriously consider getting one!
