On August 10, a team of NHL Alumni took on members of the Naval Special Warfare community to honor Navy SEAL Nicholas Spehar, who was killed in action on August 6, 2011, in Wardak Province, Afghanistan.

This was year 2 out in Coronado, CA with the @warriorforlifefund and it was a great turn out. These events and games continue to grow and gain support. Thank you to the @nhl and @nhlalumniassociation for getting behind the Warrior For Life Fund. Thank you to all the NHL Alumni players who joined in. Thank you to all the NSW players, it was an honor to share the ice with you all. And a huge thank you to the Spehar family for allowing us to celebrate and remember your son Nick and his service and sacrifice. We look forward to doing it again next year!
