Helping people find the courage to go to therapy for the first time is one of the goals and successes of Feel It All. So far, I can’t tell you how many dozens of messages I’ve gotten that say exactly that. Each one is why I do all of this.

It’s an honor and a success to be following through on that part of the film’s purpose and mission: to help people give a voice to their struggles for the first time and ultimately ask for help for the first time.

So, all jokes aside, here are a few top tips for finding a therapist for the first time: 
- Ask a loved one to hold you accountable to following through. 
- Just start picking up the phone and calling! Most of the time you can get a pulse on if they’re right for you before a first appointment. 
- Psychologytoday.com is what I’ve found to be the best, universally available resource so you can search geographically, by specialty, and other key elements.
- You likely have supportive resources already available to you to help in the process—either through insurance or local non-profits with directories or therapy grant programs. 
- Just do it. Now’s the time.
