I loved kicking off my trip to Switzerland in the canton of St. Gallen! for my fellow Americans, cantons were described as comparable to states 😂

Which of these activities would you do first?!

Accessibility info about the activities:

- self guided audio tour can be picked up from the tourism office at sgbtourism which is right in the center of the old town. I loved the old town, such a cozy feeling with so many restaurants, shops and history but still super quiet. There was cobblestone, but it was pretty mild for Scootz and easy to roll on as long as I went slow. The cathedral and old library in the Abbey were completely accessible too which was impressive given how old they are!

- I love learning about local cultures and food and the appenzeller_schaukaeserei cheese factory was nothing short of that! It’s in a small village and it was so refreshing to speak with the tour guide and locals and see how passionate they are about the entire regenerative process, as well as the traditions that get passed down for generations. The whole facility was equipped with ramps so I have no issues with Scootz. More cowbell.

- The saentisbahn cable car was my first taste of the impeccable natural beauty that Switzerland has to offer and WOW, I was blown away - quite literally. There were people climbing up the side of the mountain to get to see the same view I did, and obviously I can’t climb like that, so I’m very grateful that I had the option of taking a cable car up the entire way. It was barrier free so I didn’t need a ramp, just rolled right on and off! The facility at the top of the summit was AMAZING. There were elevators and multiple viewing areas on either side, interactive exhibits about weather, a restaurant and more. They also have accessible hotel rooms at the bottom if you’d like to stay near the mountain.

Thank you to AccessibleSwitzerland for organizing everything! Can’t wait to share where I’m off to next!
