We are proud to announce that Advance Community Health has been awarded a $1 million grant from Wake County to support the expansion of our walk-in/urgent care facility, Advance Axcess, on Capital Boulevard.  This expansion aims to serve 2,500 new unique patients and 2,000 walk-in patients, enhancing access to vital healthcare services in the community.

Advance Axcess will offer a wide range of services to address urgent/acute illness including colds, flu, fevers, minor injuries, accidents, injuries, and wellness needs, vaccinations, immunizations, COVID testing, STD testing, labs, and more.

The grant will provide $200,000 annually over a 5-year period. The funding will be used to cover the cost of the property lease for 5 years and to expedite the upfit of the health center to include a radiology suite. 

"We are extremely grateful to Wake County for their generous investment in our organization," Dr. Colin Ottey, Interim Executive Medical Director at Advance Community Health said."This grant will allow us to further our mission and expand access to vital services,  ensuring that everyone has access to the care they need, when they need it."

The funding was part of a $7 million investment by the Wake County Board of Commissioners in 12 projects designed to support the community and help residents thrive. 

"From helping increase access to healthy food to expanding options to shelter the unhoused, the work these non-profits plan to do will make a significant difference in the lives of our most vulnerable residents," Chair Shinica Thomas of the Wake County Board of Commissioners said.
